Cumin is already mentioned in the Bible. Egyptians, Greeks, Romans - they all valued Cumin as a spice and medicinal plant. It is also mentioned in ancient Indian books on medicinal herbs. The seeds of Cumin are especially often used in Ayurvedic cooking. It is better to grind it oneself, because then it will spread its full aroma. Cumin is also part of Ayurvedic spice blends, such as the Vata Churna.
