Piper longum (Indian pepper). The fruits contain piperine which stimulates digestion and the respiratory tract. It energises and cleanses the body and in Ayurveda considers it to be rejuvenating. Together with pepper and ginger powder it is used to make Trikatu, the most important stimulant used in Ayurveda. It rejuvenates Agni, burns off Ama and promotes the absorption of nutrients.
