| A tea made with licorice and ginger is recommended. Take a quarter teaspoonful of each plant with one cup of water. Another remedy for internal use is a quarter cup of onion juice that is mixed with one teaspoonful of honey and an eighth teaspoonful of black pepper. This remedy reduces cough, congested airways and shortness of breath. |

| Mix equal parts of yogurt and water, add fresh ginger (about an eighth of a teaspoon) and drink it. Or drink black coffee with fresh lemon juice. Another remedy is oatmeal gruel mixed with one or two teaspoonful of poppy seeds. This mixture is cooked, a fingertip nutmeg added, stirred and eaten. |
| A teaspoonful of ginger is cooked in one liter of water and the steam is inhaled. Eucalyptus leaves cooked in the same manner are also an excellent remedy for the common cold. If the nose is congested, rubbing the outside of the nose with eucalyptus oil helps to clear the nose. You can also use sweet calamus root powder as snuffing powder. You take the amount of one fingertip for each nostril. |
Exhaustion (through heat) |

| Drink half a cup of Aloe Vera juice three times daily until the hemorrhoids are gone. |
| Add a quarter teaspoonful of curcuma powder and a fingertip of salt to a glass of hot water. Gargle this mixture. |
| Apply the mush of cilantro leaves to the affected area or drink coriander tea (one teaspoonful of coriander seeds for one cup of water). |
| Add a fingertip of salt and two fingertips of curcuma powder to a glass of warm water and gargle it. You should also suck on a whole carnation and a piece of rock candy. Once there is no more sputum you prepare a tea with a fingertip of carnation- and cinnamon powder and half a teaspoonful of ginger powder. You pour boiling water onto this mixture. |

For the general relief of headaches you create a mush from half a teaspoonful of ginger powder, warm it up and put it on the forehead. You might possibly feel a burning sensation, but there will be no harmful results.
Another method is the observation of your breathing. For this you observe whether the exhalation is stronger through one nostril than the other. In this case you close the stronger side and breathe through the other side until the headache stops.
You can apply the following methods to specific types of headaches. Sinus headaches are related to Kapha and can be treated by putting ginger mush on the forehead and on top the sinuses. Forehead headaches point to an excess of Pitta in the stomach. A tea made with half a teaspoonful of caraway and half a teaspoonful of coriander seeds for one cup of water will bring relief. At the same time you can put sandalwood mush on the temples. Headaches that come from the back of ther head point toward the presence of toxins in the intestines. Stir a teaspoonful of flax seeds into a glass of warm milk and drink it before going to bed. At the same time you put ginger mush behind the ears.
Headaches can also be caused by changes in body energy or by emotions that were suppressed in deep connective tissues. |

It also helps to softly massage the bottom of your feet with sesame oil, or to rub the skin of your head with oil, or to dribble five to ten drops of warm oil into each ear. For external swellings two parts curcuma powder is mixed with one part salt and placed on the affected area. Kola tea is also useful (one teaspoonful of Kola for one cup of water). |
